FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When does the car rally start?

Our 2025 rally begins on Saturday 19th July with rally registration at 7pm in Reims, France. The rally officially starts the following morning, on Sunday 20th July. The rally itself lasts 4 days, it finishes on Wednesday 23rd July, so allowing for the rally registration on Saturday, it’s 5 nights in total. We also offer an additional Paradise package from the 24th – 26th July 2025 for the return journey back from Lake Garda to the UK.

What car is eligible?

We are the ONLY car rally that doesn’t place a restriction on your car, you can use ANY vehicle you like. If you want to do it in a Banger that’s fine, if you want to do it in your Bugatti, then that’s fine too. Some rallies insist you have a certain type of car, that it’s value is less than £300, and that you raise a grand for charity. We like to give people the freedom to make their own decisions. The Cannonball Run had a fantastic range of cars, and look at the fun they had.

What does the registration fee include?
  • The actual staging of the rally
  • Rally registration for a team of 2
  • Return Eurotunnel crossing upgraded to the single deck train so no scratched alloy wheels
  • 5 nights of luxury accommodation including breakfast – REIMS, BASEL, CHUR, 2 NIGHTS IN GARDA

  • Detailed planning of the route. Most other rallies leave it up to you to get to a destination, they’re not really bothered how you do this. We do care, that’s why we give you a route that takes in all the very best driving roads in Europe
  • Recce costs where we might fly out to some of the destinations, hire a car and drive some parts of the route, finding start, finish and evening meet up points etc
  • Advertising costs, flyers, banners, Google Adwords, website hosting and design
  • Walkie Talkie and charger for each team, this helps everyone stay in touch in the rally convoy
  • Funball Rally T-Shirts
  • Funball medals for everyone, cash prizes for Best Team Spirit (helping other Funballers) and Best Car
What do I need to bring?

You will need a mobile obviously, a decent Sat Nav with European maps and a traditional map is always handy. A decent camera to record all of your antics! You will also need a high visibility vest, warning triangle, UK sticker, headlamp beam converters, breathalysers and first aid kit. You can buy this as a package off the internet, just Google ‘European Travel Kit’. We all bring this kit back with us, as it’s only a small package, you’ll need it for your next car rally.

Do you give us a route to follow?

Other car rallies let you make your own way to a destination, we don’t think this is fair and it’s just plain lazy. We give you a detailed route, if you want to travel on the best roads in Europe, then we recommend that you follow it.

What if I break down?

The vast majority of cars will reach Lake Garda without any problems. However we do recommend that you buy European breakdown cover, just in case. If you see a fellow Funballer at the side of the road, we expect you to do the decent thing. We all help each other out, that’s the spirit of the Funball.

Are there any prizes?

We will present cash prizes for the following:

Best Car
Best Team Spirit (helping other Funballers)

All teams will receive a Funball Rally medal, wear it with pride.
